THE TRINITY IS TAUGHT IN THE BIBLE

In this section scripture used is from the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures by the Watchtower Society. The N.W.T is actually a very poor and biased translation. However the N.W.T is the accepted version by the Jehovah Witnesses. Therefore if the verse has not been perverted too badly this version will be used here. In the cases where the text has been twisted and the meaning has been changed the New American Standard is quoted and is abbreviated as N.A.S. For further information on the N.W.T turn to the section titled "Watchtower literature" on page 205   .
Historically the nature of God has been referred to as the Trinity. This means that the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are 3 separate persons which constitute only one God. The word "Trinity" is not in the Bible. This simply is the name of a doctrine or idea that is taught in the Bible. Jehovah Witnesses also use terms that are not found in the bible such as "Theocratic kingdom". We also use the word omnipotent to describe God as having unlimited power. The word omnipotent is not in the bible yet the bible clearly teaches that God has unlimited power.  People that argue against the Trinity often misrepresent it by stating it is a belief in 3 Gods. Similarly they often point out passages where Jesus prays to the Father and then declare that Jesus cannot be the Father. This type of argument shows lack of understanding of the doctrine. Let me try to explain it as clear as I can. God the Father is called God, but this does not mean that he is Jesus, nor does it mean that he is the Holy Spirit. The Father is called God in
Rom 1:7 N.W.T "to all those who are in Rome as God's beloved ones, called to be holy ones: May YOU have undeserved kindness and peace from God our Father and [the] Lord Jesus Christ."
Jesus the Son is called God, but this does not mean that he is the Father nor does it mean he is the Holy Spirit. Jesus is called God.
John 1:1&14 N.A.S
(1) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
(14) And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.
(Notice this states that God became flesh. In the context this is Jesus. See also Phil.2:5-8)

John 20:27-29 N.W.T  Next he said to Thomas: "Put your finger here, and see my hands, and take your hand and stick it into my side, and stop being unbelieving but become believing." In answer Thomas said to him: "My Lord and my God!"  Jesus said to him: "Because you have seen me have you believed? Happy are those who do not see and yet believe."
(Notice Jesus did not rebuke Peter when he called him Lord and God. The conclusion is Jesus is God the Son.)
The Holy Spirit is called God but this does not mean that he is the Father nor does it mean that he is Jesus. The Holy Spirit is called God.

Acts 5:3-4 N.W.T "But Peter said: "An·a·ni'as, why has Satan emboldened you to play false to the holy spirit and to hold back secretly some of the price of the field? As long as it remained with you did it not remain yours, and after it was sold did it not continue in your control? Why was it that you purposed such a deed as this in your heart? You have played false, not to men, but to God"
(Notice that Peter stated they played false to or in other words lied to the Holy Spirit. Then in the next breath he states that this was God they lied to.)
